Solitary walks by the water’s edge or on a wooded path to spend time alone with God and/ or join the Good Friday Walk sponsored by  Mystic Area Ecumenical Council (MAEC) on April 2

Quiet Yoga

Using the body to reach the soul – a special guided yoga session just for us provided by Lynda Hewitt on Thursday evening, March 4, at 7:00 p.m.  in our Parish Hall  mats provided

Giving Up to Give Away

An individual practice of self-denial for the purpose of benefitting others – earmark the money you save from limited spending or healthy fasting for a favorite cause, or give to MCC  for the benefit of the MAEC’s Care and Share Program

 

Mind

Special Lenten Book Study

Read Amish Grace: How Forgiveness Transcended Tragedy by Donald B. Kraybill, Steven M. Nolt and David L. Weaver-Zercher and join together for  discussion on Thursday evening, March 18, at 7:00 p.m. in our Library

Mind Stretcher Sampling

· Study Paul’s Letters at Scripture before Supper on Tuesday evenings at 5:00 p.m. in our Library

· Discuss The God Question by Andrew Pessin with the Mary Martha Group on Sunday afternoons in our library on February 21, March 7, March 21, from 4:00-5:30  p.m.

· Join Men’s Fellowship on Thursday morning, March 11, at 8:00 a.m. for Bible Study and discussion

 

Spirit

Post a Prayer and Pick a Stone

Post your special intention on the wooden cross in our sanctuary.  Consider selecting a stone from its base to carry with you as a reminder that Jesus is with us always

 

Daily Devotional

Pick up or download a copy of the MCC Daily Thoughts for Lent compiled and published by our Adult Christian Education Committee to read and contemplate an entry each day

 

Prayer Vigil

   “So, could you not stay awake with me one hour?”

Sign up for one hour of prayer in the place of your choosing during MCC’s Easter Prayer Vigil from noon on Good Friday until dawn on Easter Sunday – sign-up sheet on bulletin board outside library

Ash Wednesday – Wednesday, February 17, at 7:00 p.m.

World Day of Prayer – Old Mystic Baptist Church Friday, March 5, at 9:30 a.m.

Sundays during Lent – 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

Maundy Thursday – Thursday, April 1, at 7:00 p.m.

Good Friday – Friday, April 2 – Open Sanctuary for silent prayer from noon until 3:00 p.m.

Easter Sunday – Sunday, April 4, at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
