TEMPORARY POSITION AVAILABLE – APRIL 1 THROUGH OCTOBER 15, 2010

CHURCH ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT  

Mystic Congregational Church in Mystic, CT seeks experienced professional administrative assistant to serve in our church office temporarily while our permanent office administrator is on leave of absence.  Position is full-time, 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.  Position reports directly to the Pastor and is responsible for the general administration of the church office, including:

Administrative support to the Pastor, primary interface with church members, external organizations and visitors

bullet

Telephone communication and written and electronic mail correspondence

bullet

Weekly preparation of Sunday worship bulletins

bullet

Monthly preparation and distribution of church newsletter

bullet

Scheduling of facility use, including control/issuance of church keys

bullet

Preparation and maintenance of church-wide calendar

bullet

Maintenance of church files, including membership database

bullet

Purchase and maintenance of office supply inventory

bullet

Submissions of sermons, photos, articles to webmaster

bullet

Administrative support to committees as required

 

Qualifications include:

Professional and courteous demeanor

bullet

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Publisher, Outlook Express

bullet

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

bullet

Experience with multi-line phone system

bullet

Well-organized and confident self-starter

bullet

Office experience in a church setting a plus!
